Plans this summer

All I'm doing this summer is swimming. I get to teach the new ten and under team like always, but I also get paid to be a coach for the summer camp this year. We don't have any competitions, so it's 'free routines' everyday. (So we get to do anything we want with Syncro.) other than that, probably just Kings Island. I don't really do much over the summer.

Fairgrounds

They entered the creepy fairground and warily looked around. It was empty, during the middle of the day. The temparture was sky-rocketing, and the group of kids were exploring the deserted place.
"Mayra, we shouldn't have picked the lock. We shouldn't be here. This is bad and we-
"Kyle, stop! It's fine, no bodies even here. The place isn't suppose to be open until next week." Mayra cut Kyle off, stopping him shortly.
"Yeah, but that's kind of the issue," Mary fed off Kyle's doubt. "The safety inspector hasn't check things and the-"
"Can you guys stop being so good for at least an hour?" Johnny snapped, crossing his arms. "No ones here, and everything's free. There aren't any cameras, and even if there were, who's watching them? No one, because no ones here!" He scowled at the two pointedly.
After a few moments Mayra cleared her throat. "So, what's first?" None of the teenagers answered. "Okay, I'll pick." They continued to walk around the fair until they came to the tilt-a-whirl. They started to walk past them until Mary gasped.
"I love these!" She laughed. "If you and Johnny are going to make us stay here, we've got to do these!"
Johnny sighed and they stepped over the railing. He pried open the door, and waited for everyone to get it. They sat down, and began to twist the table.
The ride creaked, then slowly sputtered to life.
They all laughed, spinning the round table faster and faster, making themselves dizzy.
After a few moments, the small door whipped open. It flapped back and forth in the wind, and Mayra took her hands off the wheel, reaching to pull it closed.
"Stop!" She yelled over the wind, waving her hands in a stopping motion. "We've got to get the door closed!"
All of the teenagers released the table, but the ride didn't stop. It began to spin faster and faster, and Kyle stuck his hand out, trying to grab the door's handle.
"This isn't right!" Mary yelled, as Kyle began to tip forward, almost falling out. Johnny grasped his arm, not letting him tumble onto the ground.
"Thanks!" Kyle laughed it off easily, "That was clos-" he didn't get a chance to finish when he was jerked out of the ride. Their wasn't a scream, but just a loud thud where he hit the ground.
No one spoke. The ride slowly died to a stop as the dreadful silence took over. Johnny climbed out first, helping the others down. They walked over to a still Kyle, his body twisted at an odd angle, unmoving.
The first to speak was Mayra. "He's dead." She whispered, nudging his hand with her foot.
"Did you even check for a pulse?" Mary asked, her body turned away from Kyle's.
Johnny crouched down beside Kyle, he felt his wrist and neck for a heartbeat, then shook his head.
"Oh my god." Mayra covered her mouth in shock.
"What are we going to tell our parents?!" Mary yelled loudly, panicking.
"I've got an idea." Johnny offered quietly. "But we have to move him."

Women's rights today

People assume that ever since the 1900's when the Woman's equal rights law was passed, they have been treated equally. They haven't. Women still get paid an average 658 dollars less then men a year. This number comes from a simple jobs like cooking or waitressing at a restaurant? Image how much less they get paid (then men) a year working a job like in the White House.
Because people (and bosses) are not required to share their amount of money they make each paycheck, women can be slipping by with 50% less than some men. On top of that, many men bosses choose to pay women less, just because they don't think women can do the job as good as a man. In some cases, this might be true, but in most, it isn't. This is very unfair to working single moms trying to sustain a living for their kids.
This issue needs to be addressed, but is very hugely overlooked by politicians and lawyers.

Dead Poets Society

I believe the main point of the movie is Carpe Diem. Ceasing the day. Doing what you believe is true and right. Living in the moment and enjoying it. This movie was amazing and I thorougly loved watching it. I have so many different opinions I can't even put them into words.

"Migrant Mother"

Sadness.
Hunger.
It smells of death.
Loss.
A joke.
This place is out of hope.
Frown.
Wrinkle.
Because their isn't anything for a smile.
Turn away.
Shy.
Nothing to say.
Done.
End.
Looks like its over.

Rice

Why is it,
That rice comes for water?
Is it because it needs the water,
Or do the roots come through the surface on their own,
And we just harvest them?
How did we even first discover that we could eat them?
I bet that was a little awkward.

Where do I see Poetry?

I see poetry in things that are pure. I get inspired to write poems when I see nature, and animals, and natural things. For example, I've never written a poem about a stop light, or a busy street, but I've written tons of poems about a waterfall. I think this is because I see poetry as a beautiful thing, and I want to write it about beautiful things. I want it to stay simple, and innocent, I guess. Poetry is words that come together in a flowing and easy way, and can mean many different things to different people.
