People assume that ever since the 1900's when the Woman's equal rights law was passed, they have been treated equally. They haven't. Women still get paid an average 658 dollars less then men a year. This number comes from a simple jobs like cooking or waitressing at a restaurant? Image how much less they get paid (then men) a year working a job like in the White House.
Because people (and bosses) are not required to share their amount of money they make each paycheck, women can be slipping by with 50% less than some men. On top of that, many men bosses choose to pay women less, just because they don't think women can do the job as good as a man. In some cases, this might be true, but in most, it isn't. This is very unfair to working single moms trying to sustain a living for their kids.
This issue needs to be addressed, but is very hugely overlooked by politicians and lawyers.
Great opinion! I agree with you.
